I am Love

I went to see the film 'I am Love' directed by Luca Guadagnino set in Milan. Although difficult to follow at first, it has some amazing cinematography. Passion and love turn the family's life upside down. The director plays close attention to details which are often disregarded in films. Because of the slow start you are kept in suspense and when the plot unfolds it becomes even more dramatic. If you can manage reading subtitles whilst watching a film (which I did struggle with) then you must see it!

My House

Have just completed my Unit 1C essay comparing my chosen architect for the presentation piece to my childhood home. It was difficult making a comparative analysis because writing about my home is quite personal, whereas Erno Goldfinger's house in Willow Road (my chosen architect) i don't have an attachment with. Plan and Section of my house.

I spent last week in the beautiful island of Ibiza. Out of season we missed all the loud english yobs. The buildings were amazing. with the back alleys packed with weird shops and restaurants and market stalls it became a maze. LOVED IT ALL.

Conceptual Sketch Models

We've started our new brief this week continuing to work with the leftover spaces and places within the railway viaduct from london to South Bermondsey. Week 1 has been about 'Definitions and Concepts', creating a conceptual model linking to our Recording device from the previous project. At the start of the week I found is really hard to grasp the tasks that were set, but as the week has gone I've began to get a clearer idea. Still confused though.

LOVE

Went to Amsterdam last week with Miss Peace. was amazing. Went to Anne Franks house, VanGogh Gallery, Coffee Shops, horse rides and some peep shows. We had absolutely no idea where we were going which made it even more amazing. Met some incredible people, and a crazy man frothing at the mouth. Learnt some new things, Nerkin in the Kerkin, the art of a teddybear roll (which was also demonstrated by Jess), stairs are for poor people, bad tread, radars and operators, laughing till you cry, LOVES. Thank you for an amazing four days!

Fin*

Its 3am, and I think I've finally finished my project. There's a few things that I would have liked to have changed. One thing was practice more on my Axonometric drawings, which I hesitated in doing and put it off till last. I am about 90% sure I've done them right *fingers crossed* and even if I have done them right, I still hate doing them, ESPECIALLY when there's circles involved, i actually want to stab the paper. Also this blog entry is for Miss Hocking, i know if she sees the photos she will start getting all excited, and will love the fact that I've done some productive work.

Breathing

'There’s a beautifully simple way to cope with the increasing pace of life. It's called stopping. A natural inner stillness exists in all of us and when we tap into it we can find clarity, reason and feeling that, whatever it is, its okay I can deal with it.'

I saw this man just relaxing on the roof for about half an hour. I wanted to be where he was.

To Sophie

Some updates on my recording project. I've just finished building it, and will post some more photos up shortly to show the final result. Not sure if I'm totally happy with it, but overall the project was interesting and really brought out peoples creative side. On Friday we went for our site presentation from South Bermondsey to London Bridge. It was awful weather, so was really hard to get involved in everyone’s work. Some of the students had some incredible pieces. My favourite by far was created and designed by my friend Miss Sophie Dunnage, who made an incredible seed machine. She put blood sweat and tears into the piece, turning up at 8am to queue to get into the wood workshop. Sophie, I would just like to say, I would be lost without you, and you’ve made my life being at Chelsea!

Synecdoche

We are all hurtling towards death
Yet here we are for the moment alive
Each of us knowing we are going to die
Each of us equally believing we wont.

Chavs

Was on the bus going to Canning Town area yesterday, and this little boy looked at me in his grey tracksuit and sucked his lips and said 'yeah what you looking at i'm gonna stamp on your face innit'. I swear he was about 8 years old. Society nowadays.
